Today Cupid is known for wearing a diaper and shooting love arrows into people. They are wrong. Cupid di not wear a diaper; he actually had the most beautiful wings you can imagine. Most of all, Cupid is known for and still is today the god of love. Since Cupid being the god of love he was able to make anyone small,big,tall,short ect fall in love with anyone or even anything.
Cupid is a latin name and Eros is the Greek name for Cupid, was known as a mischievous god of love, he was a companion of the goddess Aphrodite. According to myths, Cupid was one of the causes of the creation of the world. They say that Cupid united love. When Cupid united the love between everyone it brought order and harmony to the conflicting elements that chaos brought.
Cupid is called the son of Aphrodite, or Polymnia (the goddess of plants), or the son of Porus (who is the brother of Athena) and Penia (the wife of Porus).GReek poets tell us that Cupid birthed himself. Therefore there is no exact person as of who is Cupid's mom or dad. Soon Greek poets said that Cupid is the son of Aphrodite and Zeus. This means that Zeus could be the father and grandfather of Cupid.
Cupid was often represented as a handsome youth. Today, Cupid has nothing to do with the elements of the universe like he did in the early times. Now Cupid partially has nothing to do with the love that binds us together. In modern days Cupid is still known for making people fall in love but not as much as the Grreks believed. Also in modern days he is often represented by love on Valentines day.
Cupid's arm consists of arrows. The arrows were carried in a golden quiver.Also in the quiver are torches. Each one of Cupid's arrow has a different power. Some arrows are golden. The golden arrows gave light to a loved's wounded heart. Others are sharp with a heavy led. Those arrows cause dislike to a lover. Cupid is also represented as a mythical creature with golden wings. Those wings help him flutter around like a bird. All the information that is given shows that Cupid is purely the god of love.
